Nutrition Frequently Asked Questions

What is a CSSD?

The Board Certification as a Specialist in Sports Dietetics (CSSD) credential is designed as the premier professional sports nutrition credential in the United States. Specialists in Sports Dietetics provide safe, effective, evidence-based nutrition services that include assessment, nutrition diagnosis, intervention, counseling, and follow-up evaluation for health and performance for athletes, sports organizations, and physically active individuals and groups. The CSSD was developed by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency of the American Dietetic Association, the nation’s largest organization of food and nutrition professionals. CDR is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.
